Production Shoot Day 3
At home, I got into character by wearing casual clothes I had planned for Pandora's costume and doing my makeup. Then, I headed to Layla's house, our shooting location for the day. However, since it was my first time visiting and Layla's house was quite far from mine, my mom and I had a challenging time finding it. Fortunately, we arrived safely.
I brought a black box from home to use as a prop, but it had gold printing on top, so I needed to paint it black. Unfortunately, I ran out of black paint, and we had to use Layla's paint instead. The painting process took a significant amount of time to dry, but once it was done, we commenced filming.
Initially, I planned to take the first shot from outside the house's entrance, but Layla suggested starting from inside the house to build curiosity among the audience. Khadeeja filmed as I acted in it. This is the shot. We also captured a worm's-eye shot from the perspective of the Red Heels as Cynthia opened the box. To achieve this, I placed the camera inside the box, opened it, and tried my best to convey a confused expression for the shot. This is the shot.
Finally, we had planned to capture a dolly-in shot of the red heels in the shoe box. However, disaster struck when Layla realized she had left her shoes – the iconic red heels – in the car after Day 2. To make matters worse, her mom had taken the car and driven an hour away. This unforeseen circumstance forced us to add an extra day to our shoot, solely to capture this final shot before the title sequence.
