Sourcing The Props: The Red Heels

 

Finding The Red Heels:

This is what I invisioned the heels to look like: 

To find the perfect heels for our project, I conducted an extensive online search, scouring multiple stores and considering factors such as price and style. Although I found several potential options, sizing issues prevented me from making an online purchase.

I also explored my mom's shoe collection, discovering a few promising options. However, her shoe size (38) didn't match our requirements (size 36 or 37). Undeterred, we decided to visit the mall to continue our search. Unfortunately, most heels didn't fit our envisioned look, and the ones that did were overpriced.

Ultimately, we opted for a practical solution: painting a pair of heels Layla already owned. This ensured a comfortable fit and eliminated potential issues during the shoot, as Layla would be walking in the heels.

Sourcing The Ski Mask:

To create Lilith's shadowy appearance, we needed a face covering for Khadeeja's costume. I searched online and found a suitable ski mask on Daraz, which I promptly ordered. 

However, upon arrival, the mask proved to be larger than expected.To address this issue, we decided to adjust the mask using pins on the day of the shoot, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit for Khadeeja.

Other Props we needed:

To complete the look, we required a few additional props. Since we couldn't find black face paint, I decided to use a water-activated eyeliner I had at home as a substitute to paint Khadeeja's hands.

Layla took charge of purchasing the red paint needed to transform her shoes into the iconic red heels. As for the remaining props, such as the bag, office ID, and keys, we sourced them from our homes, keeping production costs minimal and convenient.

We also required a black shoe box for the shoot. Fortunately, I had one at home, although it had some writing on it. To give it a clean look, we decided to paint over the writing, transforming it into a plain black box that fit our visual requirements.
