Rembrandt Lighting Practice.

Today, my teacher bought in Studio lights and taught us how to take portraits in rembrant lighting. Using my classmate as the model I took my shots.

I didn't have an amazing camera but I used the correct angle to take the shots in and made sure the triangle on the shadow side would show up. Instructing my friend where to put the light to get the effect.

It definitely gave the effect of thoes old Victorian paintings. Makes sense considering the history of 45° lighting.

Here is another one but in split lighting instead. The change in angle made a huge difference in the message it conveyed.
